READING THE SEASON
The Crush sets the season, the first quarter phase sets the work, and the moon in Sagittarius makes it a fruit day.
Wine grape harvest ("The Crush") peaks in Napa, Sonoma, and Central Coast vineyards. Direct sow cool-season root vegetables and prepare winter cover crops. During hot, dry spells, especially inland, check leaf undersides for spider mites, pale stippling and fine webbing; reduce dust and prevent plant water stress.
