Build a soil moisture monitoring system for your plants with live dashboard. We will use capacitive soil sensors, ESP32, and MQTT or Home Assistant for data visualization. Great for balcony gardens and indoor plants.
Intro: Capacitive vs Resistive Sensors
Why capacitive sensors are better for longevity in Thai humidity. Overview of the build.
Hardware Wiring
Connect soil sensor to ESP32. Understand ADC readings and calibration.
Dashboard Setup
Push data to MQTT broker. Visualize in Home Assistant or a simple web dashboard.
Watering Automation (Bonus)
Add a relay and small pump for automated watering when soil is too dry.
